"GE died c Feb 1983; first Hispanic author about santos, three issues in NM Mag spring 1935 and in NM Quarterly in about 1936. Gilberto was part of the renowned E family, and his and Jose E. Espinosa's interest in the popular religious 'use' of the santos (rather than art-history/art-criticism) has been the abiding source of my own main approach. See RU 43, another gift."
