Black Lives Matter Rally
Date
2020-06-14
Description
On June 14, 2020, I went to my first rally ever to support BLM and LGBTQ people. It was the Denver Pride Liberation March. I made my first sign for the rally by nailing a broken cutting board together and painting it. It was a beautiful day and a peaceful rally.

Covid faculty response
Date
2020-08-14
Description
I created this voice file in response to prompts regarding my experience with COVID-19. I created this because I think a lot of people think faculty live alone or have private spaces where they can complete work. I think my experience of working from home during the pandemic challenges this perspective. At the time where we shifted to work from home, I was living with several roommates who were also suddenly working from home. We knew how to work together as roommates, but not as colleagues. It wasn't the work that was hard, but everything surrounding it.

Commencement poem
Date
2020-08-26
Description
I started teaching at Regis in fall 2016. Four years later, I was teaching the English department's senior capstone class in the spring of 2020 when COVID hit in March. The seniors in that class had started as first-years the same year I started at Regis, so they would have been the first graduating group who I had known since they first started college. For this reason, I felt very attached to them and was really mourning the chance to see them graduate, give them a hug goodbye, and wish them good luck (face to face) on the next steps of their journey. I wrote this poem to them as a kind of graduation gift. It contains hidden references to each of the members of the Regis English department in May 2020.

Mistreatment of regis students in time of covid-19 quarantine email
Date
2020-09-24
Description
This was an email sent from a student to several Regis community members explaining the problem they saw/ heard of students treatment in quarantine when positive for COVID. It was sent Tuesday, September 22, 2020 8:00 AM, and I received it later that morning. Not everyone has heard of this instance, so I think it is important to include because it details struggles of people who were put into such a situation because of COVID.

Covid audio postcard
Date
2020-10-15
Description
I made this piece as a project for Digital Writing Lab with Professor Knorr. I considered how COVID has impacted me and my community, and how it feels to see such a dark world. At the end of the day, we do still have a lot of things that are not worth giving up on. We can still sing, and still dance, and make art, and those things have always been meaningful and continue to bring us joy and comfort.

"Immigrant Interview" (cited title)
Date
2021-04-10
Description
"This contribution is significant to allow others to hear the lives and stories of immigrants. The woman I interviewed went through a lot of struggles as well as triumphs to be where she is today. She is very active in the Colorado community today; attending social justice rallies and selling her art in a Denver Market. It was a pleasure to get to talk to her and hear her story."
