Large black cross topped with a metal plate featuring the initials "INRI" affixed at the top. A bearded Christ, head tilted to his right and wearing a blue loincloth, exhibits the wounds of the crucifixion.
Note Fr. Steele:
"except for a few broken fingers, in excellent condition. Probably by Juan Ramon Velasquez of Canjilon, d. 192."|"This crucifix never had a pouf. The wound on Christ's left cheek is el beso de Judas--Judas' kiss betraying Christ in the Garden of Olives; the five lines of blood running down from it signify the five major wounds of the passion (nails in hands and feet, spear in side) and the five Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary."
